The Basic
To submit a film or screenplay to the festival, applicants must follow the guidelines outlined on the festival's website and here. The festival accepts films of any length and genre, provided they are independent productions and have English subtitles. Submissions are judged by a panel of expert judges, with the most exceptional films and screenplays being selected for showcase at the festival.
Rules
As a festival participant, you agree to the festival's rules and terms, which include requirements for ownership and rights to the film or screenplay, restrictions on content and language, and guidelines for promotional materials. Furthermore, participants must grant the festival permission to screen their films or read their screenplays during the festival.
Awards & Accolades
The Rising Sun Cinema Festival - Tokyo is committed to recognizing exceptional talent and works of alternative cinema. At the end of the event, certificates and laurels will be awarded to the winners in various categories, acknowledging their outstanding achievements in the field of filmmaking.
The festival jury will select winners in various categories, including Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Cinematography. Additionally, special awards may be presented for exceptional achievements in the field of alternative cinema.
Winners of the Rising Sun Cinema Festival - Tokyo will be awarded unique laurels and certificates, honoring their exceptional contributions to the world of cinema. All courier charges for the trophies shall be borne by the recipient.
The winners will be recognized and celebrated for their exceptional talents. The festival management's decision regarding the awards shall be final and cannot be contested.
